Safe senders for everyone
Owners and User Administrators can list addresses and domains everyone in the account trusts, so their images load and their mail stays out of Junk.
Some senders everyone in your account trusts: your school, your team's tools, a partner company. Instead of each person adding them, an Owner or a User Administrator can add them once in the console, under Mail → Safe senders. Read-only people can see the list; other roles don't see it.
What a safe sender does
For every mailbox in the account, mail from a safe sender:
- loads its images by itself, through our privacy proxy, but only when we can confirm the message really comes from that sender. A message that only pretends to be from them still asks first;
- isn't moved to Junk by the Only trust my contacts and safe senders setting.
People's own choices come first: anyone a person put on their own Blocked senders stays blocked for them. Our spam checks still apply to everyone.
Adding and removing
- Open Mail → Safe senders in the console.
- Type an address (
jane@example.com) or a domain (example.com) and choose Add. Separate several with commas. A domain covers that domain exactly, not its subdomains:example.comdoesn't includenews.example.com. - To take one off the list, choose Remove next to it.
Changes reach every mailbox within a minute. The list holds up to 300 entries. Every change is recorded in the audit log, without the addresses themselves.
What people see
In the webmail, Settings → Junk and blocked senders shows the list under Added by your organisation, read-only, beside each person's own Safe senders. When an image loads because of it, the note on the message says your organisation added that sender. See Webmail settings.
Webmail settings
Make the webmail look and behave the way you like — theme, density and reading pane, signatures and templates, mail rules, automatic replies, forwarding, blocked and safe senders, your photo and sender name, dates and keyboard shortcuts.
App passwords
Create a password for each mail app (phone, desktop, printer), see it once, and revoke it when you lose the device.
