If your account is suspended
What a suspension stops, what it keeps, and how to appeal.
We suspend an account or a person's sign-in only to stop harm — usually spam, abuse or phishing sent from it — or when the law or an unpaid bill requires it. A suspension never deletes anything.
How you find out
- The account's Owners and administrators get an email (or, for a person's sign-in, that person does) with the reason and how to appeal.
- Signing in to the console shows a notice saying the account is suspended, with the reason.
- If only your own sign-in is suspended, the sign-in page tells you so.
The reason is one of:
- Sending spam
- Abuse of the service
- Phishing or impersonation
- A payment problem
- A legal requirement
- A breach of our terms
What a suspension stops
An account suspension:
- Its mailboxes can't be signed in to — not in the webmail and not in mail apps — so they can't send.
- Mail sent to its mailboxes and aliases is returned to the sender.
- Its people can still sign in to the console, but they see only the suspension notice and their own Security page.
A suspension of one person's sign-in:
- They can't sign in to the console, and any signed-in sessions are ended.
- The mailboxes assigned to them are suspended the same way. The rest of the account keeps working.
What it keeps
Everything stored stays: your mail, folders, contacts, aliases, domains and settings. Nothing is deleted while an account is suspended.
How to appeal
Email support@anhourtec.com from your sign-in address and tell us why you think the suspension is a mistake.
A person reads every appeal.
When it's lifted
You get an email, and everything comes back within a minute or two: sign-in, sending and receiving. Mailboxes that your own account had suspended before stay suspended until you resume them.
