Your free address

Every account can have an address at anhourmail.com, like jane.doe@ followed by our domain. It's a full mailbox: use it in the webmail and in any mail app.

1. Sign up in the console at app.anhourmail.com, then confirm your email address: we send a link to the address you signed up with. It works for 24 hours. If it has expired or didn't arrive, choose Send the link again where the console asks for it.
2. On the console's home page choose Get your free address (it's also on the Mailboxes page).
3. Type the name you want. The console tells you as you type whether it's available.
4. Set the password you'll sign in with: type one, or choose Generate a strong password and copy it. It's shown only until you create the address.
5. Choose Get this address. It's ready within a minute; then sign in to the webmail with the full address and that password.

Mail apps use app passwords rather than this password.

Choosing a nameCopy Anchor Link

• 4 to 32 characters: lowercase letters, numbers, dots, hyphens and underscores. Capitals are fine to type; addresses are not case-sensitive.
• Start and end with a letter or a number, and don't put two dots in a row.
• Shorter names are held back for now.
• Some names are reserved, such as admin, support, postmaster, abuse, billing, security and our own names, so that nobody can pass themselves off as us. Look-alikes count too: no.reply, post_master or admin2 are refused, and so is any name containing our name.
• Names are first come, first served. A name that was used once isn't given to anyone else, even after it's deleted: mail meant for its old owner never reaches someone new. The account that had it can take it back.

• Free: 1 address at anhourmail.com.
• Plus and Supporter: they count toward the account's mailboxes, up to 10 in all, next to mailboxes on your own domains. Add one from Mailboxes → Add a mailbox and choose our domain in the list.

Deleting your addressCopy Anchor Link

You can restore a deleted address for 30 days, like any other mailbox (see Mailboxes); after that it and its mail are gone for good. The name stays retired: your account can take it again later, nobody else can.

Our staff can create your free address when you ask for help. They never choose its password: the account's owner sets it from the mailbox's Password tab. It's recorded in your account's audit log as an Anhourtec staff action.
