Mail app settings
Server names, ports and security settings for Thunderbird, Apple Mail, Outlook and other apps.
Most mail apps find these settings on their own when you type your email address. If yours asks, use the values below. Every value has a copy button.
Server settings
| Protocol | Server | Port | Security |
|---|---|---|---|
| IMAPrecommended | imap.anhourmail.com | 993 | SSL/TLS |
| POP3 | imap.anhourmail.com | 995 | SSL/TLS |
| SMTPrecommended | smtp.anhourmail.com | 465 | SSL/TLS |
| SMTP | smtp.anhourmail.com | 587 | STARTTLS |
| JMAP | imap.anhourmail.com | 443 | SSL/TLS |
| Username | Your full email address | ||
Every connection is encrypted. Incoming mail uses SSL/TLS on its own port (IMAP or POP3); outgoing mail uses SSL/TLS, or STARTTLS on the second SMTP port for apps that ask for it. Unencrypted ports aren't offered.
Your password
Mail apps don't use your account password. Create an app password for each app on the console's App passwords page, then paste it into the app. If you lose a device, revoke its app password and nothing else changes.
Two-step verification
App passwords keep working when two-step verification is on, which is why mail apps use them.
If the app can't connect
- Check that the username is your full email address.
- Check that you pasted an app password, not your account password.
- Check the security setting matches the table above for the port you chose.
