Sending limits
How much mail each account can send, and why the limits exist.
AnhourMail is for personal mail. Limits on sending keep spammers off the service, which keeps everyone's mail out of spam folders. Receiving mail is never limited by these levels.
Limits by level
| Level | Per day | Per hour | Recipients per message | Who |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| New | 25 | 10 | 10 | Every new account starts here. Limits rise automatically as the account ages in good standing. |
| Standard | 200 | 50 | 50 | Accounts in good standing after the first weeks, and every paid account. |
| Trusted | 1000 | 200 | 100 | Long-standing paid accounts with a clean sending history. |
| Restricted | 0 | 0 | 0 | Sending is paused while we review unusual activity. Receiving mail keeps working. |
Every account starts at the first level. Limits rise automatically as the account ages in good standing.
Newsletters and bulk mail
The standard plans are for personal mail, so newsletters, bulk mail and marketing mail aren't allowed on them.
Newsletters and bulk sending will be a paid add-on (coming later) for Plus and Supporter accounts. It sends from a separate pool, only to people who opted in, with one-click unsubscribe — Canada's anti-spam law (CASL) applies. The Acceptable Use Policy has the details.
If sending is paused
If an account sends something unusual, sending may pause while we take a look. Receiving and reading mail keep working. You'll get an email explaining what happened and what to do next.
